Psalm 5 (Rhyming)

Shield.png

Oh Lord, listen to my moaning,
My God and king, hear me in my groaning.
I pray to you.
In the morning you'll hear my wailing,
Eagerly watching, I will be praying.

Enjoying evil: you do not do,
There’s no evil inside of you.
Boasters won’t stand before your eyes,
Wicked people you will despise.
You destroy everyone who tells lies,
Killers and liars you will despise.
Yet in your home you welcome me in graciously,
In your temple I'll bow honoring thee.

Make me good so that my foes can see,
Roll out your pathway right in front of me.
Their words are never true,
Embodying destruction is what their hearts do.
Their throats are like the entrance of a tomb,
Flattery is what their mouths will always fume.
For their offensive crimes charge those guys with guilt,
From their own devices let their fall be built!
For all their offenses, you should banish them,
Against you alone does their rebellion stem.

If I refuge in you, then let my heart be glad,
Let me rejoice always and never be too sad.
Provide me with shelter, and be my protection,
Bring me joy because you capture my affection.
To the good, oh Lord, you have always kneeled,
Surround him with you favor; favor like a shield.
