Psalm 42 (Rhyming)
(1) I Long for God in My Sadness
Like deer crave streams that run,
My soul craves You, Existing One.
My soul thirsts for the God who’s alive,
When will my time to see Him arrive?
My tears are my food, from dusk till dawn,
As everyone asks, “Where’s your God gone?”
As I pour out my soul, this memory I keep:
To God’s house I went with a crowd so deep.
And with a sound of thankful jubilation,
We engaged in festive celebration.
(5) Wait for God
Soul of mine, why is your face to the ground?
Why does inner turbulence abound?
Look to God with expectation,
Thank Him for His acts of salvation.
My soul weeps within, burdened and low,
But I recall God from where Jordan’s waters flow.
God, my soul aches deep inside,
So I recall our times by the Jordan’s side.
From Mount Mizar I remember You,
We made memories at Hermon peaks too.
(7) Wait for God
Deep calls to deep at Your rumbling sound,
Your waves crash over me, steamrolling me down.
There’s a command that God will say:
Ordering His love to advance throughout the day.
His song will be with me at night,
As a prayer to God, who keeps my life alight.
“God, why have You forgotten me?” I cry,
“I weep while my foes oppress—Why?”
Enemies taunt me in a bone-breaking way,
“Where is your God?” They mock all day.
My soul, why are you depressed?
Why so troubled and distressed?
Just wait for God; I'll thank Him anew,
He and I will prosper in all that we do.
