Psalm 26 (Rhyming)

Lord, avenge me—see my integrity,
Without wavering I’ve trusted in thee.
Scrutinize me and put me to the test,
Try my heart and mind—that’s my one request.
I see your goodness in front of my eyes,
Your truth is something that I exercise.
With senseless men I don’t affiliate,
With shady men I don’t associate.
I hate when evil is congregated,
With them I will not be correlated.
I will wash my hands—there’s no guilt in me,
The Lord’s altar is where I’m meant to be.
Of thankfulness I will be made aware,
Then all of your wonders I will declare.

Lord, I love the shelter your house provides,
I love the place where your glory resides.
With your offenders don’t classify me,
With violent men don’t identify me.
In their hands many evil plans are kept,
Bribes are things that they are glad to accept.
But integrity is what I’ll embrace,
Rescue me, oh Lord, and treat me with grace.
My feet stand on a level foundation,
I’ll bless the Lord with my congregation.
