Zechariah 6

(1) Vision 8: Four Chariots

Then I looked up again and saw four chariots approaching from between two mountains made of bronze. The first chariot’s horses were red, the second’s were black, the third’s were white, and the fourth’s were strong and speckled. So I asked the messenger [angel],

“What are these about, sir?”

He answered,

“They are heaven’s four spirits/winds that are moving out after being with the Master of the universe. The one with black horses is going to the north, and the one with white horses is following behind them. The speckled ones are going to the south. When the strong ones went out, they wanted to roam the earth.” 

Then God told them,

“Go ahead and roam the earth.” 

So they did. Then God said to me,

“See? The ones going to the north have caused My spirit to rest in the north.”

(9) Receive an Offering from Captives

The Existing One also gave me a message that said,

“Receive an offering from Helem, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who were in Babylonian captivity. Go to Josiah’s house to receive their offering, because that’s where they went when they came back from Babylon (Josiah was Zephaniah’s son).

(11) A Priest-King will Rule

“Make an ornate crown out of silver and gold and place it on Joshua’s head. (Joshua was Jehozadak, the high priest.) Then tell him, that I say,

‘There’s a man named Branch who will branch out from where he is to build My temple. Yes, He will build the Existing One’s temple, receive the honor, and sit on the throne where he’ll rule. He’ll also serve as a priest on His throne, and there will be plenty of peace and wholeness to go around.’

That crown will end up in the Existing One’s temple where it will remind everyone of Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Josiah (Zephaniah’s son). People who are far away will come and build the Existing One’s temple.”

When that happens, you’ll know that the Existing One behind all creation has sent me [the author] to you. These things will come to pass if you do what the Existing One your God says.
