Psalm 9 (Rhyming)

Father-God.png

I will thank the Lord with all of my heart,
I will proclaim the wonders that thou art.
I will be happy, rejoicing in you,
To you, the Most High, my praise songs are due.

When my enemies turn and start to retreat,
They'll stumble and perish right at your feet.
You judged my case with favor shown,
You judge with fairness from your throne.
You destroy the corrupt and scold the nations,
Forever erasing their reputations.
The enemy received their devastation,
And you've uprooted their civilization.
Even memories of them face annihilation.

But the Lord's life cannot deplete,
Firmly he sits in the judge's seat.
He judges the world completely fair,
Defending the righteous everywhere.
God is a shelter for the oppressed,
A shelter for when they feel distressed.
In you their trust will be directed,
Those who seek you won't be rejected.

For Zion's God our songs acclaim,
To the world his deeds we'll proclaim.
He recalls their blood in the brawl,
He doesn't forget the afflicted's call.
Oh Existing One, be gracious to me,
I am so hated; I'm in misery.
You pull me away when I'm at death's gate,
So that your praises I'll always restate.
Jerusalem's gate is now my location,
The way you saved me deserves celebration.
The world fell in a pit: the pit that it made,
It caught its own foot in the net that it laid.
God knows how it ends; he made up his mind:
The wicked get caught by traps they designed.

To the underworld the wicked return,
Even the atheists without a concern.
The needy will not forever disappear,
The hopes for the victims will persevere.
Don't let man prevail, oh Lord please arise,
Judge the world in front of everyone's eyes.
Oh Lord, strike fear into their hearts again,
Reveal to them that they are but men.
