Psalm 30 (Rhyming)

God, you pulled me up, so I’ll exalt thee,
You stopped my foes from overcoming me.
Asking God for help, I am appealing,
Now the Existing One gives me healing.
You save my life and hoist me from the pit,
You stop me from sinking down into it.
All of the saints: make music to the Lord,
He’s holy, so let your thanks be outpoured.
When God is angry it passes by fast,
But for a lifetime his favor will last.
All throughout the night weeping carries on,
But joy will soon come at the break of dawn.

In my prosperity I asserted:
“I will not ever become subverted.”
By God’s favor my mountain’s firmly stayed,
When God hid his face I became dismayed.
Oh Existing One, I called out to you,
Having your favor is what I pursue.
If I’m in the grave what good will that do?
Will the dust start thanking and praising you?

Hear me out and let your grace be conveyed,
Oh Existing One, please grant me your aid.
You removed my mourning and my sadness,
And turned them into dancing and gladness.
Now my silence has become songs of praise,
Oh Existing One, I’ll thank you always.
