Psalm 16 (Rhyming)

Protect me oh God; I'm sheltered in thee,
Oh Yahweh, you are leader over me.
I have nothing good besides you alone,
Your saints are the only delight I've known.
People who make deals with another god:
They increase sorrow, spreading gloom abroad.
In their offerings my blood won't be bled,
On my lips their names won't even be said.

I'll inherit God as my fortune,
He accounts for my entire portion.
I love how my lot was allocated,
It's lovely to me and I'm elated!

I'll bless the Lord who gives me direction,
When gloom comes my mind gives me correction.
I station God before me every day,
With him beside me I won't shake or sway.
My heart rejoices and I'm elated,
My body lives safely situated.
In the underworld don't leave me stranded,
To the pit your Saint will not be handed.
You'll reveal the path of life to me,
Overflowing joy encompasses thee.

You hold eternal pleasure in your hand.
