Psalm 19 (Rhyming)
Up in the heavens God’s glory is shown,
The sky’s vastness makes his craftsmanship known.
Every day a proclamation is made,
Night after night his wisdom gets conveyed.
Yet nothing is said, and there are no words,
No need for a voice nor speech to be heard.
Over all the earth heaven wraps around,
Throughout the planet its whispers resound.
That is where God established the sun’s room,
Emerging just like a bride for her groom.
The sun rejoices ready to run by,
It rises up from one end of the sky.
It circuits around to the other side,
And from its heat rays not a thing can hide.
God’s law is perfect; it restores the soul,
His teachings are true, they teach the simple.
His laws please the heart because they are right,
His commands are pure, they make the eyes bright.
Having fear of God endures forever,
His decisions are right altogether.
God’s thoughts are worth more that gold or money,
Sweeter on my lips than drops of honey.
Your laws teach and warn me like a mentor,
If I follow them, rewards are in store.
People can’t tell when they need correction,
So pardon my hidden imperfections.
Don’t let me engage in arrogant sins,
Don’t let them rule me, and don’t let them win.
When my life is finally completed,
My big transgression will be deleted.
Let my words and thoughts be pleasing to you,
You’re my redeemer—the rock I look to.
