Noah’s Family Tree

These are the descendants of Noah’s sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth who had children after the flood.

*Nimrod (which means “valiant” or “rebellion”) became a legend throughout the world. He was a mighty hunter from the Existing One, which is what originated the saying, “like Nimrod, a mighty hunter from the Existing One.” He created an empire that started in Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar (modern-day Iraq). From there, his empire extended into Assyria (northwest Iran?), and he built Nineveh (Assyria’s capital city), Rehoboth-Ir, Calah (maybe Nimrud, Iraq), and the great city of Resen between Nineveh and Calah.

**The Canaanite region started in Sidon and stretched toward Gerar all the way to Gaza. It also stretched toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim all the way to Lasha. (This entire area is modern-day Israel.)

This is the family tree of Noah’s sons. After the flood, Noah’s descendants dispersed themselves all throughout the earth.
