Daniel 12

The dead will rise

“Then at that time, Michael, the great ruler who guards your people, will arise. There will be a period more distressful than ever before since the dawn of nations. At that time, all of your people who are written in the book will be rescued. Many of those who sleep in the ground will awaken to infinite life, while others awaken to disgrace and infinite disgust. Whoever has insight will shine like the sky, and whoever makes lots of people upright will shine like the stars forever and ever.

“Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time. Lots of people will run around, and knowledge will grow exceedingly.”

Daniel asks about the final outcome

Then I, Daniel, saw two others standing: one on this side of the river bank, and one on the other side. Someone asked the man floating above the river wearing linen,

“How long will it be until these wonders are fulfilled?”

The man dressed in linen raised his hands towards heaven and swore by the Infinitely Living One that it would be for a time, times, and half a time. He said that as soon as they finish pulverizing the sacred people’s power, all these events will be completed. I heard something else but couldn’t understand it, so I asked,

“Master, what will the outcome be after all these events?”

1,290 days after the appalling abomination

He said,

“Go on your way, Daniel, because these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Many will be purged, purified, and refined, but the wicked will continue acting wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. After the continuity is removed and the appalling abomination is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Whoever keeps waiting and reaches the 1,335th day will be glad! But for you, Daniel, go on your way to the end; then you’ll rest and rise again for your compensation at the end of the age.”
